HOME ECONOMICS & ART EXHIBITS

Shelves in the Fair Exhibit Building are stacked to the ceiling with needlepoint, cross-stitch, embroidery, crochet, knitting and quilting.  Those who sew may exhibit tailored or frilled garments, and folks who custom decorate clothing may also show their wares.

Canned fruits and vegetables, cookies and cupcakes make onlookers’ mouths water, and ceramics, stained glass and other handicrafts turn the head of fairgoers as they wander through the countless aisles of Austin County talent.

Prizes are awarded in many categories, with ribbons and cash given to grand champions and reserve champions.  Every entry receives points, and at the end of the show, awards are distributed to high-point exhibitors.
