AUSTIN COUNTY FAIRMEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPSSince 1993, The Austin County Fair Association has been awarding Memorial Scholarships in memory of deceased directors and deceased spouses of directors. In 2006, the board voted to increase the scholarships from $1,000 to $1,500 each. The same year the board voted to increase the number of scholarships from 6 to 12. In 2007, the Austin County Fair Association increased the scholarship program again by raising the scholarships to $2,000 each. For the third year in a row, the Austin County Fair increased the scholarship program this year and will award twelve $2,500 scholarships. A minimum of two scholarships will be given per school district provided applicants met the guidelines. Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school senior and rank academically in the upper 50% of their graduating class. Applicant must be an active member and in good standing of Texas F.F.A., 4-H or F.C.C.L.A. Applications must include an official high school transcript, photograph and a letter of recommendation. Applications will be reviewed and recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee. Applications for seniors graduating in May, 2010 are Available Now!!! |
