Parade Theme for 2011
“Texas Roots - Right Here In Austin County”
Entries should be unique, as this year’s parade centers not only on the historical role that Austin County played in the making of Texas, but on the family and business roots that have woven the history of Austin County itself. From the early days at San Felipe de Austin, to the histories of Bellville, Blieblerville, Cat Springs, Frydek, Industry, Kenney, Milheim, Nelsonville, New Ulm, Sealy, Shelby, Wallis and Welcome, Austin County residents and businesses have a great legacy to be proud of, and thankful for. Many of our families have traditions going back 150 years or longer, and our local businesses have had lasting impact on our county as well. So, show us your Austin County Texas roots!

As in the past, theme entries will be restricted to a first come, first serve basis.  You will be notified if your title has already been registered.
The parade, which is considered the official kick-off of the Fair, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and will gather many spectators as it winds around the square in Bellville and down Highway 159 to the Fairgrounds.  Veteran parade-goers know to come early to obtain the best spots for viewing.
